Saginaw County, Mich., is trying to make itself a better place for all its residents by 2024.
The Saginaw Community Foundation on Thursday announced the formation of the Community Engagement and Inclusion Council, a coalition of community leaders from the business, education, health care, and nonprofit sectors who will work together to create a "transformative vision" for Saginaw, MLive.com reports.
According to a press release, the CEIC is " poised to create a brighter, more inclusive, and equitable future for all in our county."
The group's goal is to make Saginaw County one of the best places in the country to live, work, and raise a family.
"We want to make Saginaw a place where no one is left behind, no one is left out, and no one is left behind because of who they are or where they come from," the chair of the CEIC tells MLive.com.
"We want to make Saginaw a place where every person has the opportunity to succeed."
The group will work with local universities, community organizations, and other groups to create a blueprint for how to make Saginaw a more inclusive place to live, work, and raise a family by 2024.
